13 miles, one great cause: PillTime Care supports Hft as the team take on the Bath Half Marathon

The PillTime Care team has been pounding the streets of Bath in support of Hft, one of the largest and longest-established charities supporting people with learning difficulties.

Lacing up their running shoes on Sunday 15th October, PillTime’s Business Growth team Sophie Bartlett, Lincoln Brown, and Joe Fogarty, all took on the popular run in a bid to raise much needed funds for Hft.

Speaking ahead of the event, Commercial Director, Sophie Bartlett said:

“We are delighted to be supporting Hft this weekend and to be raising money for such a worthy cause. Both being based in Bristol, we have a great relationship with this charity and after seeing the amazing work they carry out, gritting our teeth and taking on the Half Marathon seemed like the least we could do. We are so happy with the money raised so far and are hoping to keep the momentum going right up until race day and beyond!”

Earlier this year, PillTime officially launched our  PillTime Care offering, which is a dedicated service that’s focused on supporting care operators with the challenges of medication administration for those who draw on their care. Those using the service range from residential care and day opportunities to supported living and domiciliary care, with Hft regularly making use of PillTime Care across its homes nationwide.

Having recognised the wonderful work that Hft does, and looking to highlight their commitment to supporting great causes, the PillTime Care team wanted to go above and beyond in their efforts so opted to take on their long distance challenge.

Considered the best half marathon in the South West, the Balf Half helps raise funds for a range of great charities across the country, and Sunday saw 9,300 runners take to the streets for the city’s 41st half marathon.

Commenting on the PillTime team’s efforts, Hft’s events officer, Chloe Payne, said:

“We’re so grateful to the team from PillTime who are taking on this fantastic challenge in support of Hft. The Bath Half Marathon is such an iconic event and the sponsorship raised by the PillTime team will help us to continue to empower people with learning disabilities to make their own choices, including finding a job, building friendships and taking part in activities. Hft is only able to do this with the amazing support of individuals and companies like PillTime, so thank you to the team for their vital support. We wish them the best of luck on Sunday!”

Established in 1962, Hft’s staff teams support more than 2,200 people with learning disabilities across England and Wales to achieve the best possible outcomes. The organisation supports people to live their lives as independently as possible, with choice and control.
